Being brewers in Lubbock use to be much harder. You had to order your supplies (in the best senerio) from Austin, and hope that your yeast survived the trip with an ice pack in the 100+ summer heat. That's not a problem anymore with the local homebrew store, Sograte's BBQ and Brew Store.
The owner is a member of The Ale-ian Society (the local brewing club), and the store hosts the club's monthly meetings.
What is really nice is getting a hankering to brew and being able to just stop by Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to get any supplies you need or run and get a backup pack of yeast.
On top of the convinence for homebrewers, Sograte's owner also makes amazing BBQ.

This is the recipe for our Brown Ale that we will be brewing this weekend. We hopped by Sograte's to pick up everything we needed.
