Mead

We are trying something new with the brewing.  We're trying a simple mead.  We litteraly just put some honey and water in a container with yeast.  This is the yeast starter, developing a nice krausen.

First Friday Art Trail

Every month, on the first friday, Lubbock has the First Friday Art Trail.  It's a tour of local artists around town.  The event has a large following.

This is a modern dance group performing at the event.  It was a treat to see some interpretive modern dance.

Pork tenderloin

On the show, Avec Eric we saw this pork tenderloin recipe.  Sage, mushrooms, and garlic, and the pork was cooked to perfection.

"The Radiator"- The Texas Tech Library

One of the more distinct buildings on the Texas Tech Campus (and probably one of the most distinct in Lubbock) is the the Texas Tech Library.  The building is affectionately nicknamed "The Radiator", because of the sides which were originally suppose to look like books on a shelf but for most people they look more like the pipes of a radiator.

On the right of the photo, you can just barely see the Sun Sphere, which has bells in it that you ring from both sides.  If you ring both the bells at once, it is suppose to make a sound that resembles the sound of the sun.

Saturday Night

Cars are lined up to the horizon line, highlighting both Lubbock's flatness and the party attitude.  You can't see it well in this photo, but at the end of the street you can see the the turning wings of the wind turbine that they installed three miles away at the American Wind Power Center.
